The LAW 10th Anniversary Recap

Brian Lusczki     May 6, 2007

Trish was a guest on The LAW (Live Audio Wrestling) tonight for their 10th anniversary show. She was scheduled to call in, however, she decided to surprise the guys by showing up live at the studio to do the interview.

- The host introduces her as the 6-time women's champion but she is quick to correct him as the 7-time.

- What has she been up to? She mentions retiring in September, getting married to Ron and then doing Armed & Famous for CBS. At that point, she pulls out her police badge to show everyone. She called it a "great experience." From there she talked about her upcoming project The Second City's Next Comedy Legend, set to start Tuesday, July 10 on CBC.

- She compares the show to America's Next Top Model with sketch comedy. She calls herself the Tyra Banks of the show.

- The co-host wants to know if she's babyface Trish or heel Trish during the show? She says she was mostly the funny-goofy-silly Trish.

- Does she miss Pro Wrestling? She says not really because she been so busy with other projects. WrestleMania 23 was the last time she watched it on TV.

- The host brings up guys getting out and then coming back in a year or 2 later. Trish says she just jumped into other projects; if she sat around doing nothing then she might've thought of doing a comeback.

- Off-topic the co-host mentions how Trish's badge was actually her wallet. He compliments her driver's license picture. He called it "the most attractive driver's license picture I've ever seen!" Jokingly, Trish offers to blow-up a copy for him.

- The hosts briefly discuss some photos that Trish autographed for them years ago.

- Trish talks about being part of The LAW before wrestling. She was surprised how it happened because she was a guest on TSN's Off The Record at the time and rumors started to circulate that she had signed with the WWE. So she was asked to come on The LAW to talk and that turned into a weekly thing.

- She wasn't intimated over the lack of experience because she felt relaxed and compared it to talking wrestling with your buddies.

- What are some of her big moments in wrestling over the past 10 years? 1. Getting signed by WWE. 2. Winning the women's title for the first time in 2001.

- They move on to discuss how she was able to retire. Trish says she didn't know what to expect. She told Vince that she wanted to go one last time with Lita. She was expecting to leave after SummerSlam but Vince suggested that she go out in Toronto. She says it was the "most amazing ending you could ever imagine." She says Ron and herself came up with the idea for the use of the Sharpshooter as the ending.

- The co-host mentions a statement Trish made the last time she was on The LAW, which was the night she retired about sneaking the belt home with her. She kept it until she received a FedEx package with a note. She said for a few weeks WWE actually used a replica women's belt on TV.

- Her favorite match/moment was at Saco Field in Seattle when she won the title for the 4th time.

- The interview wraps ups and Trish congratulates the crew.
