Canada's Walk of Fame Set to Rock the Walk

Toronto, Ontario (May 23, 2006) � To kick off Canada's Walk of Fame (CWOF) weekend of festivities, the Rock The Walk Benefit Concert will set the pace at The Mod Club on Friday, June 2nd. CWOF 2006 inductee Paul Shaffer, of David Letterman fame, will be one of several artists performing in support of the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences� (CARAS) MusiCan program. CWOF 2006 Host Trish Stratus along with many other CWOF inductees will be on hand to kick start a weekend of glamour and celebration in Toronto. This year's title sponsor of Rock the Walk is Rogers Communications.

In addition to Shaffer, some of Canada's most noted musicians will perform including; Divine Brown; Jarvis Church of the Philosopher Kings; Molly Johnson; Roy Kenner of James Gang, Bush and Mandella; Robbie Lane of Robbie Lane and the Disciples; Haydain Neale of Jacksoul; Denzal Sinclair; Donnie Walsh of the Downchild Blues Band; and Tom Wilson of Blackie and The Rodeo Kings.

Peter Soumalias, Chair of Canada's Walk of Fame, recognizes the importance of showing support for MusiCan. �MusiCan is a wonderful program that has supported thousands of young musicians. I'm glad that CWOF can help raise awareness and some money toward this initiative.�

Rogers Rock The Walk, produced by Denise Donlon is a private concert exclusive to ticket winners. A chance to win tickets to the concert is possible through information posted in The Toronto Sun or by tuning in to Mix 99.9 or EZ Rock.

Canada's Walk of Fame will honour this year's eight inductees with a spectacular red carpet star unveiling produced by CTV's eTalk Daily, Saturday, June 3rd. A special two-hour gala tribute will follow, hosted by Canadian World Wrestling Entertainment� (WWE�) superstar Trish Stratus� at The Hummingbird Centre. The ceremony will be broadcast on CTV, June 4th.

About Canada's Walk of Fame:

Established in 1998, Canada's Walk of Fame aims to educate, inform, and inspire through the permanent celebration of the achievements of Canadian music, arts and entertainment luminaries. The annual celebration culminates in a televised tribute special that honours Canada's finest stars from the worlds of arts, entertainment, and sports.
