Zoey Serrano, formerly known as Zoey Stark, has reflected on her WWE pairing with Trish Stratus and questioned why their storyline didn't continue following their split.
Stark aligned with Stratus in 2023 during her rivalry with Becky Lynch, serving as the WWE Hall of Famer's protégé before eventually turning on Stratus after losing to Lynch at Payback.
During a recent appearance on the Game Day Grace Podcast, Serrano admitted she once questioned why the angle didn’t lead to a follow-up program with either Stratus or Lynch.
"When I did take out Trish Stratus at Payback, why didn't this happen? Why didn't I go into a story with Trish? Or why didn't I go into a story with Becky?' But then, I realized I'm just wasting my time asking these questions of why. Because I'll never know. It wasn't meant to happen, obviously, and there's always something to learn from it."
Despite their storyline ending at Payback, Stark and Stratus would cross paths again in a subtle callback on the Money in the Bank Pre-show in Toronto.

While their on-screen partnership may not have developed into the rivalry Stark initially envisioned, she has spoken fondly about the relationship she built with Stratus behind the scenes.
"I never thought in my life I would have Trish's phone number and be able to reach out to her and be like, 'Hey girl, what's going on?'" Serrano said in a separate interview with Denise Salcedo.
