WWE.com: Trish Lingerie Cover is Fans' Fantasy Come True
More than 150,000 fans voted on WWE.com to pick the Divas 2006 Lingerie Special cover girl. When the numbers were tabulated, the fans' desire was clear: They wanted to see much more of sizzling-hot Trish Stratus in sporty green and black stripes ... and little else.
WWE.com caught up with the Women's Champion to get her response to all the fanfare as well as the look of the final lingerie cover selected:
WWE.com: This is no ordinary magazine cover and photo spread. What were you and the photographers trying to accomplish going into the shoot?
Trish: I like a picture to be stylized; to have a theme. We wanted to set the scene with a single photograph, so that the fans could envision their own story behind it. It's like when I was on the Divas special issue pictured in a top hat and baby doll. It's the same with this yearss "locker room" theme — it's up to you to imagine the fantasy to go with the imagery. We wanted to do something unique because it's too easy to just stand there in your bra and panties.
WWE.com: What would you like to say to all those fans who picked you to grace the cover of this special issue?
Trish: I am honored to be chosen by the fans to be the cover girl. It means a lot that the fans continue to show me such loyal support. I'm someone they've watched grow for six years, and they've played such an important part in my development. The fans have been a big part of who I am today and what I represent.
WWE.com: What does it mean to you for your cover to be selected from so many beautiful Divas and potential covers out there?
Trish: I have worked hard to establish a "Trish Stratus brand" — from my work in the ring to the photos I take to the development of my character to the clothes I wear — it all contributes to a unique brand that the fans have become attached to. I think that relationship with the fans is why they voted for me. Personally, I thought Candice was smokin' in her photos! The bottom line is that I just have to thank all the fans for their support. This time, you have left me Stratusfied!
