WWE Classics takes a look at some of the wildest love triangles throughout WWE history. Storylines where jealousy, power and championships often came into play as these soap operas unfolded between the ropes.

Over the years there have been many twisted and tumultuous love triangles, including Triple H, Kurt Angle & Stephanie McMahon; Shawn Michaels, Rick Martel & Sensational Sherri; Macho Man and Hulk Hogan & Miss Elizabeth, but one of the most stunning and shocking was the relationionshop gone wild between 3 Canadians, one that ironically started over a $1 bet – a Canadian $1 dollar.

Trish Stratus, Christian and Chris Jericho had a storyline that unfolded over 8 months, it gets a nod in history not only because it captured the WWE Universe's attention week in and week out but it took the WWE audience on an emotional roller coaster ride every step of the way. The story presented one of the most memorable swerves in WWE History and it was a storyline that catapulted Trish Stratus' career into the... Stratusphere. When Trish Stratus pulled a quick one on not only Chris Jericho but the entire WWE Universe she pulled off one of the most shocking heel turns ever seen by a female in WWE.

WWE.com recaps the drama:

The most twisted Canadian love triangle in WWE history occurred in 2003 between Chris Jericho, Christian and Trish Stratus. It began when Y2J and Captain Charisma were dating Trish and Lita, respectively. The Superstars had a bet, but when Trish learned of the wager, she ended the relationship with Jericho.

Though WWE's first-ever Undisputed Champion had developed feelings for the blond bombshell and tried to mend the relationship – an act that upset Christian. Because of Jericho's courtship of Trish, the relationship with his tag team partner deteriorated quickly with Captain Charisma showing his distaste for both Y2J and Stratus.

The former World Tag Team Champions collided at WrestleMania XX, with Trish in Jericho's corner. The intense battled featured two of WWE's brightest stars battling in a match that was more personal than anything else. When the dust settled, it was Christian who picked up the victory after Trish accidentally hit Jericho. However, following Christian's win, the biggest secret of the entire affair came to the surface when Trish revealed she and Captain Charisma were a couple.

Although Christian got the girl, Jericho later defeated his former partner in a Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Title at Unforgiven 2003, effectively ending the malice between the two.

Even after the 'love triangle' ended and Christian & Y2J had settled, fans couldn't get enough of the witty banter and undeniable chemistry between Trish Stratus and Chris Jericho characters. The storyline that continued between these two Superstars created a lasting rivalry. Along with Lita, Victoria and Mickie James, Chris Jericho will go down as one of Trish's greatest and most memorable rivals, thanks to the writing and personal contribution of character driven storylines provided by both Stratus and Jericho.

It just goes to show what you can do when the care is given to develop a story where both parties are passionate about taking the time to develop the characters and map out the direction of the story. This care resulted in 2 memorable characters and a storyline that pulled at our heart strings and messed with our mind... just like a good old fashioned soap opera should.
