Sometimes things don't go as planned. That is especially true in the world of WWE. Here are 5 storylines involving Trish Stratus that took a different path than what was originally intended.

Mean Girls

Trish Stratus, Molly Holly and Gail Kim were pegged to be WWE's version of the 2004 film release MEAN GIRLS. We got a small glimpse when the girls welcomed Christy Hemme to Raw, 'Mean Girl' style.

What happened: Gail Kim was released from WWE shortly after, thus the storyline and the stable got dropped. Trish went on to have a short-lived TV feud with Stacy Keibler.

Seeds were planted in 2001 for Trish Stratus & Jeff Hardy to become WWE's hottest couple and tag team. Both were excited about the idea and the feuds planned, such as against Lita & Matt Hardy.

What happened: Trish suffered an ankle injury that put her on the shelf for months. However, that was a blessing in disguise as she was given the chance to hone her craft and return as a full-time singles ring performer.

Big Vis

The chemistry became Trish Stratus and the late Viscera was undeniable. We were treated to funny skits and a pairing we never knew we wanted to see until then.

What happened: Trish was diagnosed with degenerative disc damage after identifying a herniated disc, which put Trish out of in-ring action. The Viscera storyline was designed to continue the Lita/Kane rivalry by having her in a speaking role as Viscera's manager. After fully rehabilitating her back, she would return as a babyface while still holding the women's title. In the meantime, Viscera's career found new life as the "World's Largest Love Machine".

Trish Stratus & Chris Jericho had plans of taking WWE by storm as the top male & female duo. The original story had them coming together in the end with hopes of reigning as champions in their respective divisions.

What happened: Plans changed the day of WrestleMania XX when Vince McMahon informed the trio of another direction. Instead, in one of the most shocking heels turns, Trish aligned with Christian over Y2J. Her heel persona was born that night.

Austin vs. Rock

Fans were months into an Austin vs. Rock-esque rivalry involving Trish Stratus vs. Lita. The long-time rivals were set to clash on the biggest stage after months of weddings, babies and a broken nose.

What happened: Lita tore her ACL during their New Year's Revolution match, which caused WWE to insert Christy Hemme, who faced Trish at WrestleMania 21.
