WWE Hall of Famer to bring her perspective on storytelling, representation and audience engagement in women's sports to Ottawa
OTTAWA (October 30, 2026) /TrishStratus.com/ – WWE Hall of Famer and Canadian sports entertainment icon Trish Stratus will join the Northern Super League (NSL) for Women's Sport Now, a conference exploring the growth, investment and future of women's sports in Canada, ahead of the 2026 NSL Championship in Ottawa.
Stratus will participate in Beyond the Highlight, a panel discussion examining the power of storytelling in growing women's sports, building lasting connections with fans and bringing athletes' stories to audiences beyond the field of play. Bringing together perspectives from sports, media, entertainment and business, the panel will explore how compelling stories can turn initial interest into lasting fandom, expand the visibility of female athletes and create new opportunities for leagues, brands and content creators to engage audiences.
With a career spanning more than 25 years, Stratus understands the impact storytelling and visibility can have on building a global fan base and changing perceptions of women in sports. From breaking barriers in WWE to becoming one of the most recognizable figures in sports entertainment, she has experienced firsthand how representation and audience connection can help elevate women's participation and profile in traditionally male-dominated industries.
"I'm incredibly excited to be part of this panel because it's a conversation that connects directly to my own journey and the evolution I've witnessed throughout my career. I've seen how powerful storytelling and visibility can be in changing perceptions, building audiences and inspiring the next generation," said Stratus. "I'm also so excited to attend the NSL Final on Saturday. This is such a significant moment for women's soccer in Canada, and seeing these athletes compete on this stage is a reminder of how far women's sports have come and how much potential lies ahead. It's an exciting time to be part of this movement, and I'm thrilled to contribute to the conversation."
