The best of the best from the world of fitness were in Toronto this weekend to attend the one of the biggest fitness shows in North America, the canfitpro
conference. Featuring fitness celebrities and experts, personal trainers, nutrition and wellness specialists the event offered more than 400 activity and lecture sessions and showcased the latest gadgets, equipment and software in the industry.
This year’s theme was "Go for your Personal Gold!" According to Rod Macdonald, vice-president canfitpro, the opening ceremonies were kicked off with a keynote speech by Simon Whitfied who had just returned from the London 2012 Summer Olympic Games. Fans lined up for hours to meet fitness personalities such as Tommy Europe author of ‘The 10 pound Shred’, Brendan Brazier – founder of Vega, Tosca Reno – creator of ‘The Eat Clean Diet’ revolution and Trish Stratus, seven-time WWE Women’s Champion and fitness icon.
The fitness world got to see first hand the loyalty of the fans from the wrestling world as Stratus stayed almost 2 hours longer than her scheduled appearance to accommodate all the fans in attendance. Fitness fans were united with wrestling fans at the Stratusphere booth, which showcased the full line-up of all of Trish’s product lines. As soon as the doors opened, the booth had a line up from both from fitness enthusiasts, touting the positive effects of ‘Stratusphere Living’ – Trish’s approach to living a healthy and balanced life. The crowd was rounded out by excited fans of WWE’s number one diva, some who had driven over 4 hours to meet Trish. Whether they were waiting to get their DVD of Stratusphere Yoga signed or the latest WWE DVD signed, the one thing they all agreed on was they were ‘Stratuspherians for Life’
This year marked the debut of the Stratusphere brand at canfitpro
. Last year consumers got a sneak peek of Trish’s yoga product line during a special appearance at Sweat Equity’s booth where she signed copies of her cover issue. The Stratusphere brand which includes the signature DVD Stratusphere Yoga, FitGloves, mats, and more officially launched last fall to retailers across Canada. The offerings have expanded to include a line of wellness teas and hydration products such as water bottles and tea infusers. Visitors to the booth received a free Stratusphere smoothie tumbler courtesy of a partnership with BIOS H2O
, one of the first company’s to pull its polycarbonate products from the market and introduce BPA free alternatives.
Consumers also got a sneak peek at the next phase of Stratusphere products scheduled to be released this fall. Products include a travel yoga mat, at-home weight set, and Trish’s next DVD – Stratusphere Yoga for Men
which features baseball All-Star and MVP Joe Carter.
As the show shut down and Trish wrapped up her autograph signing one thing was clear – like the theme of the show, Trish continues to go for her personal gold! She continues to touch fans worldwide as she spreads the word of health and fitness, inspiring others and spreading her message through her brand Stratusphere. The Stratuspherian movement has begun.
