Trish joins a star-studded lineup appearing in Martin Short's new one-hour TV special

Brian Lusczki     April 3, 2012

Celebrated comedian Martin Short brings his unique brand of wit to CBC-TV with I, Martin Short, Goes Home which features guest spots from fellow SCTV alums Eugene Levy, Andrea Martin and Joe Flaherty. Cameos sprinkled throughout the show from other well-known Canadian entertainers include Fred Willard (Modern Family), Robin Duke (Saturday Night Live), CBC's own George Stroumboulopoulos (George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight) and honorary Second City alum Trish Stratus (WWE, Second City's Next Comedy Legend, Stratusphere).

When Martin Short learns that his childhood idol (played by Fred Willard) has fallen on hard times, he returns to his home town of Hamilton, Ontario to perform in a star-studded gala benefit. Along the way, Marty is reunited with some childhood mentors and relives childhood memories though parodies, sketches and songs. I, Martin Short, Goes Home, is a journey through the life and mind of Martin Short. And some of it is even true.

The Variety special also reunites Marty with Executive Producer Andrew Alexander (SCTV) and The Second City which helped launch his comedy career.
