Jason Sensation Interview: Says Trish's First Match Was Against Him
The excerpt below was taken from a recent interview with Jason “Jason Sensation” Tavares, known to wrestling fans for his impressions of wrestling’s greatest stars.
CNH: Were you ever trained as a wrestler?
JS: Yeah, I was. In Ron Hutchinson's wrestling school.
CNH: Oh yeah?
JS: Where Edge and Christian and Trish Stratus trained. Actually, the funny thing, Trish Stratus came to train while I was training there. I was under contract but being left at home. So I figured I might as well do something with my time and train. At least I can know how to get beat up next time. So I was training in this school when Trish came in to train as well. She signed up and she was the only girl in the class and I was the smallest guy in the class. So they always put me and Trish together. So that was kind of a bonus.
CNH: So there you go. You got to work Trish before anyone else did.
JS: Actually, her first match was against me in that training school.
CNH: Ha. That's awesome. What was she like?
JS: She was awesome. She was an awesome girl. Real good personality. She had the good go get 'em, you know, type of attitude. She wasn't gonna stop for nothing. I didn't see her as using her beauty to get anywhere. She was gonna work for it.
CNH: She certainly got plenty of success. She had more women's titles than anyone ever. Retired on top.
JS: Yeah. She just kept going. Huge. It was amazing watching her whole career. Just keep climbing and climbing. That girl, she didn't stop working so hard. So she deserves every accolade she has, you know. She earned it. She worked hard and earned it.
