Trish makes her debut as a Cannon Doll in The National Ballet of Canada's The Nutcracker
on Wednesday, December 23 at 1pm at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts.
Celebrity walk-on roles are a long-held tradition with Nutcrackers all over the world. In the National Ballet’s production, the Cannon Doll guest roles are colorfully costumed Russian Petrouchka dolls who shoot a cannon into the audience. Trish's cameo will be in the first act which is set in a winter wonderland in 19th-century Russia. Her appearance begins the battle scene.
"I'm honored to have been asked to be in The Nutcracker", says Trish. "I've been gong to The Nutcracker for years now, since my grandmother first took me years ago. She's pretty excited I'll be in the production!"
The Nutcracker is pure pleasure to experience, both for children and adults. Bursting with humor, surprise, emotion and best of all, brilliant choreography, the ballet glides effortlessly from whimsy to bumptious comedy to awe-inspiring extravaganza to touching sentiment. It is a feast for the senses and the imagination. The Nutcracker choreography and libretto are by James Kudelka, music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, set and costume design by Santo Loquasto and lighting design by Jennifer Tipton.
Tickets start at $26.
