Trish talks about being voted 2002 Babe of the Year
For the second year in a row you voted Trish Stratus as "Babe of the Year". Not only is Trish thankful to the thousands who cast their vote in her favor - but she is also appreciative of all the fans support, not only as reflected in this year's contest, but in helping her achieve so many of her goals this year. She admits she couldn't have done it without your support.
"Oddly enough, my ankle injury sort of kick - started my career or at least certainly marked a turn in my career. Upon my return in October 2001, given the opportunity to showcase my athletic skills in the ring and consequently going on to become the WWE Women's Champion, I think was the beginning of a journey for me and I think the fans came along for the ride", recalls Trish. Shortly thereafter fans showed their support and appreciation of the new and improved Trish Stratus by voting her 2001 Babe of the Year.
"With every new move and with more matches under my belt every week, the fans literally have watched me develop and grow into a three - time Women's Champion. I feel I have worked very hard to gain that position and I fight every week to retain that position in the fans' eyes. When I come out to my music I feel that the response from the fans is genuine in that I truly have gained their respect and acceptance because they have witnessed my struggles and my developments personally and watched Trish Stratus go from T & A's valet, to Vince's 'friend', to a three - time Women's Champion!"
