Trish leaves young cancer patient Stratusfied

Until now, Shane Conner could only dream about being body slammed by his favorite World Wrestling Entertainment diva, Trish Stratus.

But on Sunday, he got the next best thing. Not only did the Lowell resident get up close and personal with the three-time Internet Babe of the Year, but he also got to meet a long list of WWE wrestlers at WWE Raw, staged at Valparaiso University.

WWE rolled out the red carpet for Conner, who is battling cancer, and gave him star treatment from the get-go, including a pre-event backstage visit with the wrestlers, who came out one by one to shake his hand, chat, and wish him well.

After getting an escort from the Valparaiso University police past the long line of fans waiting to get in, Conner was led backstage.

Stratus, whose picture has held a special spot on Conner's wall for several years, finally appeared, toting a box of wrestling goodies, including T-shirts and a neck chain with a lock attached, all for Conner.

"With this chain, I give you Stratusfaction," Stratus said as she placed the chain around Conner's neck.

"I was in Chicago and you were there," Conner told Stratus, referring to another WWE event he previously attended. Of course, at that time, Conner said previously he had to sit "way in the back." This time, it was ringside seats.
