Cavazos said watching wrestling — in person or on TV can be a big stress reliever. “It can get pretty crazy,” she said. “But in the end, it’s all staged entertainment and fake.” Trish Stratus, the WWE’s woman’s world champion, said although what she does is considered sports entertainment, she can still get hurt.
The 28-year-old Canadian rattles off her sports injuries as if she’s reading from a restaurant menu.
It’s all part of the job, she said. “I’m not going to lie to you,” she said as she waited for a plane at the Newark Airport, “there is a lot of physical pain but that’s what you train for as an athlete.” Stratus performs four shows a week and doesn’t have an off-season, she said. She is expected to be at Sunday night’s show. “The fans down there are really hot for wrestling,” she said of performing at the Dodge Arena. “They are a really passionate crowd.”
